Galentine's Day Brunch/Party Prep

Ladies! It's almost Galentine's Day! Are you ready? We are.

If you've never heard of a Galentine, allow me to get you up to speed.

Galentine's Day started as a plot point for an episode of Parks and Recreation. The main character, Leslie Knope, has an annual brunch with her favorite gal-pals on February 13th. Like Friendsgiving, This is a time to get together with your friends to celebrate each other and the upcoming main event: Valentine's Day.

There's only one rule: no boys. This holiday is all about celebrating your closest girls.

My favorite part of hosting anything (other than seeing people I love) is setting everything up. I get so excited trying to anticipate anything I might need and how to make everything flow as seamlessly as possible. Thorough planning leaves time during the event to spend time with those you love.

Here's what I have planned so far:

This week I am sending out the cutest invitations for the cutest Galentine's Day Brunch. (Which will be taking place the day after Valentine’s Day)

I'm going to set up our charcuterie spread on this cheese board from Crate & Barrel.

In our Friendsgiving blog post from November, we used placemats from Hester and Cook to spice up our tablescape. They received so many compliments and clean up was so easy, I thought I would use placemats from there again. I am ordering the Confetti Paper Placemats.

I am inviting eight or nine ladies over for brunch. I thought it would be nice to get them each a little something. So I went to PaperSource and found these cute matching Love Bug Gift Bags. I'll place one at everyone's spot.

To round off the table, I found these gorgeous plates at Meri Meri. I ordered a pack of pale pink dinner plates.
